The purpose of this website is to provide citizens and visitors with information about our department, programs and other useful resources. Our employees are committed to our mission, vision and values of service and along with the support of the Mayor and Commission; we strive to provide a safe and pleasant community for our residents, employees and visitors and to improve the quality of life in District Heights. 

The department serves a diverse community of approximately 6,000 residents. Our city is approximately 1.0 square miles in size and consists mostly of residential homes, town homes and an apartment complex. In addition, we have a small thriving commercial district.

Our employees are committed to providing citizens and visitors with the highest quality of professional service through impartial enforcement of our laws and codes, community policing, community partnerships and promoting community safety through proactive problem solving. We offer a variety of services to the community including 24 hour vehicle patrols, foot and bike patrols, Crime Prevention, Code Enforcement, Bicycle Registration and other community services.
