Carol is a native Washingtonian who offers 27 years of success as a retired Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Officer spearheading many facets of police operations. They include: serving as Community Youth Services Officer to handle youth crime while implementing youth events such as college and job fairs, Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween parties and Toys for Tots. She has served as a Senior Coordinator knowing the value of the community and serving others. Carol’s experience as a leader has earned her numerous medals and awards to include President’s Award and other meritorious achievements. Also trained in suicide prevention Ms. Blake offers a wealth of knowledge in strategic communication planning with a background in mental health counseling. She is a confident and competent expert on domestic violence, understands trauma and works towards cultural competency.
A mother of two daughters and one son, is not only committed to family but her love for District Heights, MD since 1995. As a volunteer in the community with Recreation, Parks and Culture Department for over 5 years, volunteer in her Church – Village Keepers Ministry feeding the homeless and not to mention a volunteer with Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #1 in Washington, DC providing guidance to officers.
Carol’s educational background includes: a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of the District of Columbia, she obtained a certificate of completion for Thanatology from University of Alabama and attended the University of Maryland specializing in social work. Carol is currently a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress.
