Application Process

Step 1: Pre- Approval

Resident Application Package- Please download and “read” all five (5) documents in its entirety before signing and submitting the application documents to DHEEP. Also read the following 2 incentives that each homeowner could qualify to pay for services rendered through DHEEP:

1.   100% grant ( 100% non-repayable grant, based on falling below the low income limits)

Step 2: Retrofit Process

1.   After Audit is performed and Final Proposal is Sent to Customer and reviewed/approved by DHEEP,

2.   SES sends/explains proposal to Customer & Customer returns signed proposal

3.   Standard Energy Solutions (SES) will schedule retrofit

A.     100% customers can proceed immediately with work
B.     50/50 customers will be scheduled once your half of the retrofit is paid (to DHEEP)

4.   Retrofit

A.    SES Project Manager will be onsite to troubleshoot and supervise the retrofit

5.   Test out

A.    Conduct a mini-audit to test how effective the retrofit was
B.    Customer signs Job Completion form

6.   DHEEP Perform additional test out inspection

7.   Work is approved and Successfully Completed. Contractor is fully paid.

 

 


 

Program Update:

September 23, 2011

The city of District Heights was awarded additional funds from Prince George’s County Dept. of Housing and Community Development, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to fund the second round of the District Heights Energy Efficiency Program (DHEEP).

All program assistance for DHEEP audit/retrofit activities, funded through the Department of Energy’s EECBG program, has been fully allocated for this year 2011.

We have started accepting applications for assistance, until Winter 2011, for the second round of funding for DHEEP activities that will be funded through the CDBG program. Program applications are located below. However, please note that due to the decrease in funds, the city will not be able to allocate the same amount of funding for home retrofits during this funding round.  As a result, the project scope will be revised to reflect the decrease in the program budget for retrofits.

  • NLC Service Line Warranty Program

    The City of District Heights is notifying residents of a program provided through the National Leauge of Cities (NLC) Service Line Warranty Program administered by Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA). This program offers a warranty to homeowners that covers repairs or replacements of the outside water line that runs from the point of utility responsibility to the home. Property owners are accountable for these repairs, not the utility. For more information on this program or to enroll, please visit SLWA's site at www.SLWofA.com.
