Sustainability Committee

District Heights Green Team

Vision:

The District Heights Sustainability Committee’s vision is to build a just, sustainable, and equitable community that values and protects our natural environment. We strive to educate, inspire, and empower residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices, reduce waste, conserve resources, and foster a healthy, resilient community that benefits everyone, regardless of race, income, or background. We are committed to addressing environmental and climate justice issues and working towards a future where all members of our
community have access to clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment.

Mission:

The District Heights Sustainability Committee is committed to promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing the quality of life for the residents of District Heights through
education, outreach, and action. Our mission is to reduce the community's environmental impact, conserve natural resources, advocate for environmental and climate justice, and create a more livable and sustainable city.

Monthly Meetings:

Monthly meetings are on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. Meetings occur ten times per year. No meetings are held in August or December unless a special meeting is called. Until further notice, monthly member meetings will be virtual. We ask that members volunteer at two committee events per year. All members of the community are welcome.
