Public Works Department

Welcome to your online guide through The City of District Heights Public Works Department. Our department works hard to provide and maintain public services and facilities that contribute to the health, safety, and well-being of our city. These efforts primarily include planning, engineering, operation, maintenance, and replacement of the community’s infrastructure investment.

The City of District Heights has an excellent Public Works Department that continues to grow and excel. We have continued to improve the procedures that allow us to efficiently serve the community. We coordinate an array of services and programs for the community which include:

  •     Recycling & Multi-Material Pick-Up
  •     Limb & Leaf Collection
  •     Snow Removal
  •     Bulk Trash Removal
  •     Tree Maintenance
  •     Mosquito Control
  •     Street Maintenance


2018 Spring Clean-up, The annual clean-up will take place from April 9-13,2018.

Residents May rid their proper-ties if tree limbs, grass clippings, heavy bulk items and trash.
No hazardous materials, such as paint will be accepted. Place your items curbside during the clean-up week
In the event of snow, you may want to wait before shoveling snow from in front of your drive-way and vehicles. The Public Works Department must plow the streets and open up all en-trances into the City.

Bulk Trash Collection

Bates Trash Services
Bulk trash is collected on Wednesday’s, by APPOINTMENT ONLY. You must call by 2pm on Tuesday, before Wednesday’s pick up. Regular trash pick up days are Monday and Thursdays.

  • NLC Service Line Warranty Program

    The City of District Heights is notifying residents of a program provided through the National Leauge of Cities (NLC) Service Line Warranty Program administered by Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA). This program offers a warranty to homeowners that covers repairs or replacements of the outside water line that runs from the point of utility responsibility to the home. Property owners are accountable for these repairs, not the utility.
